Working on Arts....

So I have a WIP artwork I want to post.

It is Lirael as the Abhorsen in Waiting from Garth Nix's wonderful Abhorsen Trilogy.  (go read it if you haven't)  I am making it for my wife as one of her birthday presents.

Lirael herself is mostly done, she is still missing Charter marks from her sword, bell, and forehead, but I plan to add those last and make them all glowey.  I will also lay blue lighting over the whole thing to make it look like it is at night, but again that is in the end.  I'm going to work on the Disreputable Dog next, then the undead and background.  Hopefully when its done it will be rather fantastic.  So far I am liking it.  So we'll see how it looks again in a few days.

I am drawing/painting it all digitally using my wacom tablet, and a program called Sketchbook Pro.  I'll probably pull it into Photoshop to finish it off, but until I get to that point I love me some Sketchbook Pro, its so intuitive, and CHEAP check it out on the mac app store if you have a tablet and like to do this sort of thing.  I highly recommend it, especially if you are more traditionally minded like I am.

Also I'm told there should be lightning.
